Accelerators
Epoxy accelerators are typically used in formulations that require faster cure speed, improved early strength, or better low-temperature reactivity. They are especially valuable in applications such as flooring mortars, adhesives, composite layups, protective coatings, and hybrid systems where processing time and productivity are key factors. Accelerators are compatible with polyamines, amidoamines, and anhydrides, and are often used in both ambient-cure and heat-cure epoxy systems.
These additives can also be used in hybrid epoxy–polyurethane systems to support the epoxy-side reactivity and help balance the overall gel time. While tertiary amine accelerators do not directly catalyze isocyanates, they can improve compatibility and performance in two-component hybrid coatings, membranes, and flooring products. Typical dosage ranges from 0.2–2% of the epoxy resin mass. Excessive use may shorten pot life or lead to uncontrolled curing — formulation testing is strongly recommended.
Overview of Accelerators
Our accelerator portfolio includes carefully selected grades to support faster curing and improved process efficiency across epoxy formulations. These accelerators are suitable for both ambient and heat-cured systems and are compatible with a range of epoxy hardeners. This section presents available options with key technical values including viscosity, amine hydrogen equivalent weight (AHEW), and recommended mix ratios.
